fish-1/2 kg

coconut oil – 2 tbsp

fenugreek seeds-1/2 tsp


green chilly-3

ginger-1 tbsp



pot tamarind-6

hot water

turmeric powder-1 tsp

red chilly-4 tsp

coriander powder-1 tsp

for grinding,

grated coconut -5 tbsp


fennel-1/4 tsp

water-2 tbsp


curry leaves


Grind the coconut with shallots and fennel , keep aside

Heat a clay pot add oil, then fenugreek, next onion, green chilly , ginger, garlic ,tomato, pot tamarind and hot water , then add masalas and cook for 2 minutes, then add the fish and cook well, then add coconut into it, finally tempering with mustards, chilly and curry leaves
