Sweet potato is one of the many health benefits. Rich in fiber, sweet potatoes are just as sweet as the name suggests. Sweet potatoes are very helpful in weight loss due to their low calorie content. Along with fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants will also improve your health.

Vitamin C is the most important nutrient in sweet potatoes. Studies show that the nutrients and high fiber content of sweet potatoes can help people with obesity, cholesterol, and high blood pressure , Although similar in name, sweet potatoes are not related to the potato family and are quite different in terms of nutrition. Thick Curd at home

We can make packet like thick curd at home.

Only milk is needed to make this

Boil milk in medium flame for 5 minutes, stir the milk without stopping, then allow the milk to cooled down, take a little curd in a small bowl, add milk to it, combine well, then pour the mix to the milk, mix well, then close the container tightly, keep this about 8 hrs, then it will become thick curd.

Neyyppathiri

Ney pathiri is a popular north kerala bread made using rice flour and coconut . These fried bread are usually served with curries for breakfast or dinner. Watch this videoto make delicious ney pathiri at home.

Ingredients :

Rice flour( puttupodi) 1 c

Ghee 1 tsp

Salt 1 tsp

Coconut 1 c

Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Fennel 1 tsp

Shallots 8

Water 1 1/2 c

Preparation

In a bowl, add rice flour, salt and ghee, mix everything well, then pour hot water, mix well, then keep aside. Crush coconut with shallots, cumin and fennel seeds, then add to the rice dough, knead it with luke warm and make soft dough. Make large balls with the dough, then flatten it with your palm, put the pathiri in boiling oil, then fry it.

Chakka varuthath- It’s Kerala’s popular tea time snack. Very easy to prepare tempting and tasty too

INGREDIENTS

*Raw Jack fruit (the edible yellow part of Jack fruit) Chakka Chula

*Oil -1/2 ltr

*Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

*Water

PREPARATION

*Peel and remove the white strips from the chakka Chula’s.(edible yellow part),Remove the seeds from each chakkachulas and divide soft flesh parts. Cut medium thick stripsMix turmeric powder and salt with water.
Heat the coconut oil in large thick bottomed pan . When the oil is hot lower the flame and drop in a handful of the sliced jackfruit strips. Stir intermittently , Deep until it becomes golden brown and crisp. When they becomes golden brown Crispy transfer it to kitchen tissue to absorb excess oil .You can keep these chips in airtight containers for long time.

Appam and Cherupayar curry

A very good combo for breakfast..

Ingredients

for appam

raw rice- 1 cup

coconut-1/4 cup

cooked rice-1/4 cup

sugar- 1 tsp

yeast-1/2 tsp

salt

For green gram curry

Green gram- 1 1/4 cup

turmeric-1/4 tsp

salt

green chilly-3-4

coconut

curry leaves

dry chilly

coconut oil

mustard

Preparation

Soak rice for 3-4 hrs, then grind it with yeast, coconut, sugar, cooked rice and water. Make a fine batter, then keep overnight for raise. Next morning, add salt, then mix well. Now you can make appam.

For curry, take a pressure cooker, then add soaked green gram, add salt, turmeric, water and green chilly, then cook it well. Grind coconut and add to cooked green gram, boil it well, then season the curry with oil, mustard, dry chilly and curry leaves.

Curd and Ginger are best combination for rice. Here 2 different style making of curd ginger curry

Recipe 1

Take 2 1/2 cup of curd, whisk it well. Grind coconut with curry leaves, ginger, green chilly and curd, then add this paste to curd, mix both well, add salt too. Then season it in coconut oil with mustard, dry chilly, and curry leaves.

Recipe 2

Take 1 1/2 cup of curd, beat it well, then keep aside. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add finely chopped ginger, fry it well, then add it to curd, add salt, then season it same as first recipe. Mix well.
