Ingredients
tuvar dal-3/4 cup
coconut oil
tamarind- gooseberry size
pumpkin-4-5 pcs
onion-1
potato-1
brinjal-1
carrot-1/2
ladies finger-4
shallots-12
drum stick-1
green chilly-2
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
chilly powder-1/2 tsp
sambar powder-2 1/2 tbsp
jaggerry- small
coconut oil
mustard
fenugreek seeds-1/4 tsp
dry re chilly-3
curry leaves
asafoetida-pinch
Preparation
Cook sambar dal in a pressure cooker with 2 cup of water and 1 tsp of coconut oil for 2 whistle.Heat a pan , add 1 tsp of coconut oil, then saute all vegetables, saute ladies finger and shallots separately with sambar powder. Then add tamarind juice into the vegetables, then add other masalas, salt and cook well, next add cooked dal to the vegetables, add ladies finger and shallots, next jaggerry, boil well, now add curry leaves and curry leaves, then turn off the flame. Finally temper with mustards, red chilly, dal and asafoetida powder.
