Yam Curry

Ingredients

yam square pieces

salt

turmeric-1/2 tsp

water

coconut oil-2 tbsp

mustard-1 tsp

fenugreek-1/4 tsp

shallots-10

garlic-5-6

green chilly-5

ginger

curry leaves

kashmiri chilly powder-2 tbsp

turmeric-1/4 tsp

pot tamarind

water

salt

hing powder

jaggerry-1 ponch

Preparation

Cook yam with salt,turmeric and water, then keep it aside.Heat oil in a claypot, add mustard, allow it to pop, then add fenugreek, ginger, green chilly, shallots, curry leaves and garlic, saute it well, then add masala powders after turning off flame, mix well, then on flame again, add water and tamarind, add salt if required, then boil it well, now add cooked yam, boil it again for 5 minutes, finally add hing powder and jaggerry.
