Preparation

For sambar, cook dal with salt and tomato in a pressure cooker. Heat oil in a pan, pop mustards, add curry leaves, dry red chilly, onion and hing, saute it well, then add tamarind juice, once it boil well add masalas, next add cooked dal, boil it well.

For vada, grind soaked urad dal with 1 spoon of water. Add chilly, crushed pepper, curry leaves and salt, mix well, then make vada shape and fry in hot oil. Soak vadas in water, after 5 minutes squeeze out water, then pour sambar into it.
