Semolina Upma is a famous Indian breakfast dish, while cooking the dish, measurement of water is very important. Some people choose sticky consistency, some others like dry upma…, You can adjust the consistency of upma with water.
Usual way of making upma is very simple. Heat oil in a pan, pop mustard, then add gram dal into it, after roasting it well add finely chopped ginger and dry chillies, saute it well, next add onions, saute it again, next you can add vegetables as you like, otherwise skip it, then pour water ( according to your choice ie equal as semolina, double size of semolina, half size of semolina or whatever..), add salt, then let it boil, add semolina after the water is boil well, mix well until it cooked enough, then turn off flame.
